Ardfern is about 16 miles north of Lochgilphead and 20 miles south of Oban on the A816.  It can be reached in about two hours from Glasagow by following the A83 towards Campbeltown (past the beautiful Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne and Inverary).  Once you reach Lochgilphead, follow the signs to Oban (turn right at the roundabout at the far end of the sea front at Lochgilphead)

 

 

The nearest train station is at Oban and there is a small airfield there too.  The major airports of Glasgow and Glasgow Prestwick are approximately 2 and 3 hours away respectively.  Car hire is available at both airports.
